# Email infrastructure your agents can use.

**Prontuno for AI agents**

Connect Claude, ChatGPT, and other MCP clients to Prontuno. Agents can send transactional email, check delivery, and manage domains, suppressions, and webhooks, within the permissions you grant.

[Read the setup guide](https://prontuno.com/docs/integrations/prontuno-mcp/)

## Send, investigate, and manage from one connection

The MCP server exposes 17 tools that cover your whole sending setup, so an agent can act on what it finds instead of handing the work back to you.

[See the full tool list in the documentation](https://prontuno.com/docs/integrations/prontuno-mcp/)

### Send email

With sending enabled for the connection, send single emails or batches from its selected domain. The agent shows a preview and waits for your confirmation first.

> “Send a test password reset to ada@example.com from our staging domain.”

### Investigate delivery

List recent emails and check each one’s status to explain what happened to a message and why.

> “Why didn’t the receipt to ada@example.com arrive?”

### Set up domains

Add a sending domain, then read back its DNS records and which ones are still unverified.

> “Add mail.example.com and tell me which DNS records I still need.”

### Manage suppressions

Look up, add, or remove suppressed recipients, with the reason each address was suppressed.

> “Is grace@example.com suppressed, and why?”

### Manage webhooks

Create, update, and delete webhook endpoints, and rotate their signing secrets.

> “Send bounce events for example.com to https://example.com/hooks/email.”

### Built-in workflows

Seven ready-made prompts cover common jobs: checking sending readiness, setting up and verifying a domain, investigating a delivery, troubleshooting, reviewing recent emails, and managing a suppression.

> “Check whether my account is ready to send.”

## Agents act only within the limits you set

Clients connect by signing in to Prontuno or with an API key. Either way, each connection is tied to one team and one key that you choose.

- **One team:** A connection reaches only the team you choose when you authorize it.
- **Sending off by default:** Agents cannot send email unless you enable it, and then only from one domain.
- **Confirmation first:** Agents preview and wait for your approval before sending or changing a webhook.
- **Revoke any time:** Revoke the connection’s key in Prontuno and its access ends.

## Connect your AI tool

1. **Pick your AI tool.** Open your tool’s integration page above for its requirements and where to add a remote MCP server.
2. **Add the server and sign in.** Add the server URL to your client, then sign in to Prontuno and choose the team and API key for the connection.
3. **Ask your first question.** Ask your agent to list your sending domains to confirm the connection works.

- Server URL: `https://mcp.prontuno.net/mcp`
- Transport: Streamable HTTP
- Authentication: OAuth 2.0, or an API key as a bearer token

## An API that agents can use directly

Not every agent speaks MCP. The Email API and the documentation are also designed to be used by software that retries, reads errors, and learns from docs on its own.

- **Safe retries:** Send requests accept an Idempotency-Key header, so an agent that retries after a timeout does not send the same email twice.
- **Errors an agent can act on:** Every API error includes a code, the field that caused it, whether a retry can succeed, and a suggested next action.
- **Pages in Markdown:** Any page is returned as Markdown when requested with Accept: text/markdown, and key pages also have a .md address.
- **An llms.txt index:** A plain-text map of the site at /llms.txt points language models to the pages that matter.

## Connecting AI tools to Prontuno

### Which AI tools can I use?

Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, Gemini, Cursor, OpenCode, and GitHub Copilot each have a connection page. Any other client that supports remote MCP servers can connect with the same server URL. Connection methods and account requirements differ, so check the details for your tool.

### What can my AI tool access?

The team you authorized: its sending domains, recent emails and their delivery status, suppressions, and webhooks. What an agent can change depends on the permissions of the API key the connection uses.

### Can the assistant make changes?

Yes. Agents can add or change domains, suppressions, and webhooks. They can send email only if you enable sending for the connection’s key, and only from one domain. The server asks agents to preview and confirm before sending or changing a webhook, but confirmation behavior varies by client, so enable only what you need.

### Does this replace the email API or SMTP?

No. Keep using the API or SMTP for your application’s transactional email. MCP lets AI tools send, investigate, and manage your email setup on your behalf.

### How do I disconnect?

Remove the connection from your AI client. Also revoke the associated authorization or credential in Prontuno when you no longer need it.
