## Dedicated IP

### Example dedicated IP settings

| Setting | Value |
| --- | --- |
| IP address | `203.0.113.24` (active) |
| PTR hostname | `mail.example.com` |
| New messages | Dedicated IP |

## A reputation that is yours alone

Mailbox providers judge mail partly by the reputation of the sending IP. On a dedicated IP, that reputation reflects only your mail, which suits teams that send steadily and at volume.

### An IP just for your team

The Unlimited plan includes one dedicated IPv4 address that no other sender uses.

### Managed warmup

Our team runs the warmup schedule that builds a new IP’s reputation.

### Monitored for you

We check the IP against DNS blocklists and keep an eye on the health of its sending route.

## Control over how and where you send

The IP is managed from your dashboard, while Prontuno handles the operations behind it.

### Shared IPs compared to a dedicated IP

| Feature | Shared IPs | Dedicated IP |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Reputation | Shared with other Prontuno senders | Built only by your traffic |
| Reverse DNS | Prontuno hostname | Your own hostname |
| Warmup | Already warm | Managed by Prontuno |
| Availability | All plans | Unlimited plan |

### Your own PTR hostname

The default reverse DNS hostname can be replaced with one on your verified domain, such as mail.example.com.

### Switch routes at any time

A single switch sends new messages through the dedicated IP or the shared IPs. Queued messages keep their original route.

### Reserved while you pause

Your IP and hostname stay reserved when you switch back to shared IPs.

## Move your sending to a dedicated IP

1. Subscribe to the Unlimited plan.
2. Activate your dedicated IP, and optionally set a custom PTR hostname.
3. Switch new messages to the dedicated IP.
