In detail

The differences that matter

Price at volume
Resend Pro includes 100,000 emails for $35, then charges $0.90 per 1,000, so Resend costs less below 171,000 emails a month. Above that, Prontuno is cheaper: Standard includes 500,000 emails for $99, and Plus includes 2,000,000 for $299.
Developer tooling
Resend offers official SDKs for many languages, works closely with React Email, and has an official MCP server. Prontuno has no official SDKs yet. It uses a plain REST API and standard SMTP, so any HTTP client or mailer library can send, plus a hosted MCP server for AI assistants.
Scope
Resend includes inbound email and sells marketing plans for newsletters and broadcasts. Prontuno is transactional only, and every account is reviewed before sending, which keeps marketing traffic off the shared IPs.
Domains and IPs
Resend Pro allows 10 sending domains, and a dedicated IP is a $30 add-on on Scale. Prontuno Standard includes 1,000 domains per team, and Unlimited includes a dedicated IP.

FAQ

Questions about Prontuno and Resend

Is Prontuno cheaper than Resend?
At a $99 monthly budget, Prontuno Standard sends 500,000 emails and Resend sends 171,000. Prontuno sends more at that budget, but Resend can cost less at lower volumes. Check your own volume in the pricing calculator. Checked September 26, 2026.
Can I switch from Resend without rewriting my code?
If you send over SMTP, yes: only the host, port, and credentials change. Resend’s API uses the same basic fields as Prontuno, from, to, subject, and html, so simple sends need few changes. Check attachments and custom headers against the Prontuno reference. If your app sends email from one place, such as a mailer class, updating it is usually a small change.
When is Resend the better choice?
Resend is the better choice if you build templates with React Email; you want official SDKs for your language; you need inbound email; or you want transactional and marketing email from one vendor.
Do I need a new domain to switch from Resend?
No. Add your existing domain to Prontuno and publish the DNS records it generates. They use their own names, so your Resend records keep working until you finish switching.
Does Prontuno track opens and clicks?
No, by design. Prontuno sends your links and content exactly as written, so password reset and sign-in links are never rewritten through a tracking domain, and no tracking pixel is added. Delivery, deferral, and bounce events are still reported in your logs and webhooks. To measure clicks, add a parameter to links on your own domain and record it in your app.
Can I send marketing email with Prontuno?
No. Prontuno is for transactional email only, such as password resets, receipts, and account alerts. Every account is reviewed, which keeps marketing mail off the shared IPs. Newsletters and campaigns need a separate provider.
